Literally toddler level AI, Boon is a notorious hack. Frame data is just ignored for the AI and they do whatever they want even if it's impossible for you. The games are actually unplayable as a single player experience.

Looking back I wish Boon had gotten his way. The AI in MK2 was such utter bullshit they would throw Raiden mid torpedo. If anything keeping throws in broke the game because you couldn't get within 10 feet of the AI without getting grabbed.

But yes he was/is incompetent. He couldn't even figure out how to make a character switch sides and keep their weapon in the correct hand. Then goes on to blame the character for it and call him shit for the next decade.

Mortal Kombat has an input-reading AI that perfectly reacts to your every command whenever it can. This is OLD NEWS.

The only single way to beat it is to trick it combinations it cannot react to right. Like in UMK3, when you do a backflip air kick, the AI will ALWAYS react with a fireball if the character in question has one (which practically every character does). You can abuse that if you have a character that can teleport. Smoke has a three hit 40% damage combo for example (teleport uppercut -> air kick -> cancel to air throw when it hits).
