This aesthetic and those details are some things that inspired me to move on low poly 3D modelling.

I hope one day I can create full games in all those styles (not indie meme polygons, please), but that will be really hard as, although I have plenty of pretty solid ideas and love 3D modeling, I'm just one guy and can't model and do the programming at the same time.

I have some ideas for games with Virtua Fighter-like graphics, another one that would have a style closer to Dragon Ball Final Bout (making heavy use of vertex coloring), at least two simple cel shading (like Jet Set Radio) games... but I'm still just one guy.

While creating /vr/ Fighters models I noticed something: almost them all wear red.

Of course, Nintendo would had a character, the classic short mustachioed man, Wario.

I think he looks perfect and is easily the best board mascot design.

Although I'm Brazilian myself, I don't see any problem with Trevor looking as an american young man stuck in the 80's, as this was the norm for protagonists back in the eighties and early nineties. And he is a good, friendly stereotype.
He is not a bitter old man, he is not a fat otaku obsessed with eroges and japanese doujin games, he's a RAD guy who plays anything retro, takes "selfies" with his Game Boy Camera and can't really grasp the 2000's. What else he could be?
He's not just a Nintendo guy. 3D glasses weren't really Nintendo, he wears a Sega shirt (or a Flicky shirt in my model), the popped collar was inspired by Terry's costume in the First Fatal Fury. The only Nintendo thing he have is the motherfuckin' Power Glove.

He looks nice, has a distinctive silhouette, was fun to model and is a good stereotype.

And I'll go back to the models, but currently I can't think, as the climate is too hot here in Brazilian jungle and the monkeys are outside my treehouse calling me a mongrel and telling me to shove things in my ass.
