He used to have a page on his site listing his credits, and it revealed a few interesting details:

>His first game was the Famicom port of Trojan (directing, and graphics)
>did graphics for Virgin Dream and Nostalgia 1907
>last game was Zeriam Zone for the PS1

Virgin Dream isn't a porn game, more teasing. It's a management sim for a model.

There's a few games without right nudity. PCE-CD had a lot of PC98 ports, and some had outright nudity. A lot of games like Virgin Dreams had censorship.

>Dating sims would get stale fast, since it's a matter of re-imagining how they tackle it.

different mechanics, and different story and story segments. There's also like what 10 of them for consoles? Most were PC-98 or DOS. There's also Princess Maker which had like 3 games for the retro era and they aren't even dating games. I know 1 got a PCE-CD port, and 2 for the Saturn.

There's also a bunch of like girly sims like Virgin Dreams for the PCE-CD which is a PC-98 port. The console got a lot of PC098 games.

I know there's a lot of romantic adventure games, tons of sim games, tons of sims with girly elements, but only like 5 proper "dating sims" for Japanese consoles.

>but what was the PC Engine?

1. More shooting games (MD was their main competitor for that)
2. Some platformers (but MD and SFC had the edge on that overall)
3. Weird experimental titles no one else had
4. Endless voice acted animu movie games in various formats.

Nowhere else are you gonna get 1 hour of voice acted cut-scenes in 1993 in an rpg. Or a board game with voice acting and a fully fleshed out story. Or a Mahjong quest game with cutscenes. Or a voice acted Romance sim.

Look through issues of PC Engine Fan to get an idea what the console was like in glorious Nippon.

Whether these games are GOOD or not depends on your tastes. It's certainly a novelty to have a voice acted visual novel or sim game with anime aestetics in the early 90's.

Fun fact; Akira Kitamura (Mega Man 1-2 director) was cutscene artist for the PC Engine version of Virgin Dreams. The game is a sim/story game where you follow a young aspiring model as she advances her career. It's often mistaken for a porn game, but aside from a few riske scenes, it's straight.

Oh tha'ts another thing. A few PCE-CD games fetured some nudity.

This is Virgin Dreams. Mega Man 1-2 director worked on this game. Yeah, the Mega Man guy made a porn game. Think hes' credited as an artist.

>She's best known for creating the Patlabor series.

Co-creator. It was created by "Headgear" which was a lot of differnet people including writer/director Oshii.
