IV has a much more somber tone in general but even then it has its silly moments. Thecdragon system is simple but it does its job well enough.

I like BoFIII but I feel I have to agree with these guys. The problem is, as they said, some genes are simply useless. In theory its a great system I feel but its execution is flawed. The problem with the dragon systems of every game is it is inconvienent for regular encounters making dragon forms seen only for bosses. A good system would be helpful in both regular and boss battles.

I feel like even as far back as II they were trying to give the seried its own personality. IV and espically V really were them trying to make it into its ownnthing and not be "just another jrpg". I do agree on V getting too much hate. It was weird but I appreciate what it tried to do.
