>Alternatively, might I suggest pic related might've had a little more to it at one point?
I hadn't thought of that, but I love the idea. Perhaps when Samus entered the room a little cut scene would have played showing him get killed. Then again, it looks like's been dead for a while.
>Definitely. Good work spotting this, anon.
Thanks.
>Please upload and try TCRF again. If you don't feel comfortable adding to the main page, I can ask a buddy who sometimes edits there to do it when I get a chance.
I appreciate the offer, but this point I might as well add them to the article myself whenever I find the time. I'll have to look up how to upload audio and embed it, I don't know too much about that.

As an aside... I just noticed that someone who is not me mentioned the male voice sample on the article's "Talk" page, and according to the edit history he did so the day after I posted about it about it here and on the forums over there (http://jul.rustedlogic.net/thread.php?id=18895).). Which is kind of annoying (because who's to say he really didn't coincidentally find it on his own the day after I did), but it looks like nobody paid attention to him either, since a year and a half later it still hasn't been added to the article.

>I'd imagine that the reason for the pitch/speed variance in the audios has to do with compression or somesuch, since outside CD-ROM stuff back then, voice and video weren't common in games
That makes sense. Reminds me of that group on YouTube who have been doing those SNES soundtrack restorations (The Brickster). While restoring the Super Mario World and LttP soundtracks they've discovered that some of the original samples sound so different uncompressed that if they didn't compare the waveforms to each other they'd never have known they were the original sounds used by Koji Kondo (Case in point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9uhq3kUnik))

It hurts my soul that so many people on the internet think Metroid II: Return of Samus is a bad Metroid game. It's my personal favorite and always will be. (Pic not related)
