Got one of these for Christmas from my sister since she knows I like old games. I don't have a normal Sega Genesis so it was kind of a pleasant surprise.

As is expected from one of these cheap things, however, there are problems.

The wireless controllers are garbage. They don't work unless you are constantly pointing the controller at the console. If you're just an inch or two off, the controller stops working.

The sound emulation is also bad. Sounds way different from the normal Genesis.

But there are some normal controller ports on the front so I think I'll be able to get a regular Genesis controller for it. It also plays Genesis cartridges, supposedly. So, questions.

Is this thing worth keeping? Is the sound emulation still bad when you use regular Genesis carts? Will a normal Genesis controller work?

Should I just return it and get a regular Genesis from a local used game store? I mean, I'd have to do it without my sister knowing. I don't want to hurt her feelings.
