maybe if you set aside a room where you have your setup on one side and like, something for your wife's hobby on the other. My house is pretty big so my compromise wasn't that big. I set up my gaming room in the basement, and a reading area for the wife on the ground floor. Pic related was the arrangement before we moved. Most of the setup in our fucking bedroom lol.

Most consoles are hooked up to my Sony KV-27FS120 in my bedroom. The NES is hooked up to a 1980s 19" Zenith CRT that has inputs for composite and surprisingly, s-video. I keep it unplugged and stashed beside my couch. When I use it I have it on the living room coffee table. I'm very happy with my PC Engine right now, it's connected to my PC with a low latency capture card.

I'm moving in a few weeks so everything's been packed up. My plan is to consolidate everything into one room.
