Eh, it has a decent ratio of good:bad games compared to many other systems's libraries.
Be sure to check out third party games like Goemon. For some people, Nintendo and Rare games justify the N64, but I think there's good 3rd party stuff on the N64 that's definitely worth playing.
I play a fair amount of N64 combined with Saturn and Playstation. In fact nowadays I use Saturn and N64 more, PS1 not so much, although I still replay favorites from time to time and try new games, I gravitate more toward the other 2.
I try to play new games I never played before, but sometimes N64 1st party games are irresistible. Like the other day I did a full playthrough of SF64, haven't played it in years, had a total blast. I guess that's when your comment about "10/10 games with great replay" comes in.

The other 3D goemon games aren't good, but they got it right with this one.
It also predates games like Megaman Legends and Ocarina of Time.

A shame we never got another good 3D goemon game for 6th gen systems, the PS2 game was very weird and not so good.

Maybe you just need to research a bit better. Don't pay attention to IGN's "best N64 games" lists, it's all 1st party always.

If you want to find the good 3rd party stuff, you got to do your own work.
Hint: as per with Saturn, a lot of good shit never left Japan.

Personally I think Saturn and N64 have about the same amount of good games. In fact, both systems have some of my overall favorites from 5th gen.

I may be in the minority here but I enjoyed Saturn and N64 more than PS1. (not saying PS1 doesn't have an amazing library though).

I think a lot of the N64 hate is just snobbism, it's just "cool" to hate it. But it has a lot of amazing games, not even talking 1st party.

StarFox 64, Goemon's Great Adventure, Sin and Punishment, Majora's Mask are all contenders for favorite N64 games, but I think this one takes the cake.
