They didn't lose the source code. Jace Hall confirmed he had it like three years back. He even said he could release it if he wanted to, but he didn't. Somebody could have released it in the last 17 years but nobody did. They're all dicks.

This, def switch to midi music. Most of the CD music is terrible.

Also, if you want to set right click to alternate fire, you have to do that in setup.exe, it won't work in the in-game control menu. To do that with gog version, double click 'Launch Settings' and go to the mouse controls section and do it there.

The worst thing is all us original fans are getting older and older. If they do decide to one day release the source code there will be few of us left. It makes it harder for Blood to flourish. Doom and Duke have easily reached new generations (that are all adding to the mod scene for the game), who will in turn reach newer generations, due to all the source ports and modding that have been available for the gamse for years. Blood has just been put on the shelf. Fuck Atari.

But you know, people like to put all the blame on Atari but I don't think things are so simple. Monolith have definitely been in positions in the past to release the source code but they decided against it. I've seen a chat log with Jace Hall where he clearly stated he could release the source code if he wanted to but of course he didn't. This was some time as recent as 2012.

Fuck Jace Hall seriously. I don't know if he has the rights or is able to release it now but at at least one point in his life, he definitely was able to. Blood is 16 fucking years old.
