This is interesting. I like DK94 but I only play arcade DK lately since it's the only thing on the Famiclone handhelds. Even without the extra levels, animations, backflips etc. it's still fun to play on the go.

That's not a stupid reason actually, every following Nintendo handheld and console repeated this design, and they still do this for Famiclone handhelds. It just looks cleaner

What do you like about it, anon? If it's just the form factor/aesthetic you can get that from a $!0 Famiclone handheld, complete with Tetris and Super Mario Bros.

If it's the games themselves, they are very easy to emulate on any of the other handhelds here.

I collect other things now. Part of the charm of collecting was that you could find these games for very cheap even CIB, which is still the case for a handful of games, but it's gone up significantly.

But collecting retro game books and magazines, brick game handhelds, Famiclone handhelds, cheap emulator handhelds, and even Quick Push handhelds provides me with the same joy if not moreso.

RP5 and the 35XX handhelds aren't even really in the same category, one is like $59 and pocketable (sort of) for up to PS1 and the other is $219 and Vita/Switch Lite-sized for up to GCN/PS2. Imo it's still good to have smaller/lower end devices handy if you just want to play a quick game of Tetris or something

For power users you are maybe right, for stuff like >>11185972 and pic related though they are in a different category, closer to a regular GBC (or Tamagotchi for Game Box Mini). I'd say if the device is larger than 4.3" then maybe a phone will suffice, though at that point it's just a matter of preference
