So a friend and I have been playing MAME games online hijacking GGPO. We tried out Windjammers and it fucking owns bones. Are there any other arcade games like it? Specifically, fast but relatively simple competitive games that have a focus on mindgaming/using a repertoire of moves to act unpredictably? We tried Super Dodge Ball and it was close, but he got too confused with all of the options and moves available.

Fighters seem to be the most logical answer, but they're too complex to be immediately exciting and fun. The closest I feel like I could accept is Jackie Chan's Fists of Fire.
