I was thinking locking hidden analogue with full dpad board on top. Or maybe concentric dpad buttons in three circles, maybe some kind of normal dpad on top with a curved underside for physical pressure difference. Or failing that, a measure of distance/ speed of direction input from the centre.

If there was a great, usable dpad stick can you imagine replacement? Would this change things significantly? And what bonus controls would you like to see in it's (dpad or sticks) place?
