I will miss these amazing large arcade cabinets. Didn't play the Ridge Racer one, just watched from the side, but it is still a very cool thing to behold.

There will be fucking and seminal fluids on Nagase Reiko. It is definitely one of my most favorite PS1 games. The style, visuals, soundtrack, controls all add to an exhilarating experience. I go with the Mappy team with Assoluto cars.

Win the race, or don't win the race, you'll get something. It doesn't matter, just enjoy the sights and sounds.

I'll pick the Mappy team with Sophie and go with Assoluto cars.

I had to get the OST, great for long drives, but I always skip the Pac-Man song.

I love the game too. The first of the series I bought. Had to get the soundtrack too, as it is perfect for night driving. I really wished the Bleemcast disc for R4 was released as it looked gorgeous in the preview images.

It epitomizes chilling out at odd times at the middle of the night in the groove of a game. The light trails, the architecture, and Nagase Reiko combine to the coolest vibes.

I know of the existence of those games, but they did not appeal to me then. I got MSR because I found it interesting they were recreating some of the places I knew with a good set of vehicles. I was very glad the game handled well and looked great.

Sega GT was very low in framerate even at the time and F-355 Challenge did not have a large variety of vehicles. Tokyo Extreme Racer 2 didn't impress me based on playing it at a friend's. So just for me, MSR seemed more special and that's why I chose the game above the others given my limited funds.

I like that one, but my favorite is R4. Any one with Nagase Reiko in it is already good, but R4 was most memorable to me.

I actually liked 64. It feels a bit different from the other games in the series, but still a good game to me.

R4 is still my favorite for the music and Nagase Reiko. I even bought the 5 DLC tracks from R4 for 6. I still have the 4 OST for driving to work.

I think it is. I have an affinity to the night driving neon look. Playing late at night in the zone with the JogCon, listening the great music. I had no idea what acid jazz was, but I can listen to the R4 soundtrack on loop (maybe not including the Pac-Man song). Of course, Nagase Reiko makes the game better and inspired me to try the newer releases. I even bought the specific DLC songs from R4 for the newer releases just to recapture that feeling. However, to me, it will never beat that feeling playing R4.

I would imagine it seems weird based on that video. The person never (maybe once) initiated drift in Ridge Racer and used it in a spastic way not representative of how it works for me. Perhaps if the person lets go of the accelerator once in a while, tap the brake every now and then, changed gears, and had his/her left/right thumbs on 10-and-2 it would work properly. R4 was made easier and the tracks wider for JogCon use even, and the video still had the person rubbing up against every wall. I think it is pretty car-like where the wheels tray to return to center and fight you a bit going through turns, and I like the JogCon.

She was recommending to me which games to try out since R4. Haven't seen much of her lately.

Favorite is R4: Ridge Racer Type 4. It is just that feeling of nighttime driving to an amazing soundtrack. The glow of the lights, late night, smooth gorgeous visuals, the style, all with the JogCon in your hands gave it a very chill vibe. Sure it is easier to accommodate for JogCon controls, but still a pleasure to play. The music is probably one of my favorites for video game soundtracks too. The best way to play it may be emulation now, so you can have it at a higher resolution, with perspective corrected color maps/textures, and no more polygon seams.

I tend to like any Ridge Racer game with Nagase Reiko in it.

The whole soundtrack for 4 is amazing. I learned that this acid jazz is sort of my thing. I even specifically bought the R4 songs to play on 6.
