I'm the same, and honestly I don't see why that would be crazy considering the Super Game Boy and the Game Boy Player were a thing back then, these portable titles were always played on TVs too, CRTs to be more specific, so emulating the experience of doing that works out just fine...

It just looks better when emulating on a bigger TV than having the traditional LCD grid kind of shader... though that works well on handhelds.

It wasn't uncommon to play GBA on the big screen, Game Boy Player for Game Cube is famous for allowing exactly that really, anon.

>What's the best crt filter for reshade? And what are the best settings?
No such thing. I don't use Reshade, but my main emulation software is RetroArch, so I've played around with shaders a lot to know a few things. Every CRT back then was slightly different, often very different even, especially depending on the year it came out, and even different brands had their own sort of look to them, you won't get an overall most accurate shader because there isn't, if you want accuracy your best chance is to use a shader that tries to replicate a specific CRT TV, if that's not the case, test a bunch of them out, and play with settings, use what looks best for you.

I just use a CRT shader as if I was playing it on a Super Game Boy or Game Boy Player with a CRT. In my case I like going for crt-easymode-halation as I like the glow effect and how it gives a good CRT look without using much resources, also I'm aware that the glow effect is too much, I do it on purpose so I can keep my laptop screen on lower brightness so it uses way less of its old battery.

If we're talking about LCD shaders exclusively, I suppose my favorites are simpletex_lcd_720p or lcd-grid-v2-gbc-color-motionblur as they both give a pretty good and accurate grid look overall.
