literally just nostalgia from being a kid, 5th gen and even 6th gen were just fine. Especially compared to the nes. console games didnt start stagnating with remakes and become obsessed with nickle and diming you until the 7th gen

The crudest of them all was 5th gen trying to break into true 3D, which brought an entire new wave of creativity to gaming, yet you didnt care for those. Its called nostalgia, stop trying to comprehend it logically

Stop playing AAA games for 5 minutes and play a game not made by ubisoft or activision. I like the snes too but dont pretend like a bunch of FPS and battle royal games is any less dignified than a bunch of mortal kombat and doom clones
