The mappers and high developer ambition made it so that the NES basically got more powerful without the hardware changing at all
It's pretty fascinating how different the games became on the same system, it went from a way better Atari to a prototype of the SNES
Where on the SNES you went from Super Mario World to Yoshi's Island, which is a big jump but not absolutely huge
On the NES you could play Nuts & Milk or Kirby's Adventure, on the same system, just 10 years apart.
