That's what I used to do back in the day. Instead of my own TV, I had to use my computer monitor for Saturn, Dreamcast, SNES/SFC, and Genesis/MD. Those consoles were hooked into the XRGB2 which output to old computer CRT monitors. I didn't have any measurement tools, but the colors and clarity of the RGB was sufficient for me.

What is a good easy part-time job in the USA with decent flexible schedules? Does Walmart have part-time positions that have retirement benefits? Good 4k TVs and this is going to be a substantial amount, and my current wage cannot keep up.

The OSSC can get the results you want since you can dial in the settings that would be best for your situation.

I can't afford it since $300USD is a lot of money. I really want one for PS2, since that Motion Adaptive method looks pretty good. The near instantaneous resolution switching and auto phase detection/profiles sound great and are also features I want. It may take a few months to save up enough to get it. I am starting to look around to see if I can get a second job to earn enough.

The Framemeister upscaler has noisy solid colors and adds input latency due to its framebuffer.

Most prefer line multipliers like the OSSC which does not have either of those issues. The RetroTINK 2X is another line multiplier with composite and S-Video inputs but at a lower quality but the combination of OSSC and RetroTINK 2X makees an upscaler like the Framemeister obsolete. The OSSC is an essential part of my capture/stream setup and the Framemeiter has no longer seen any use since.

What modern screen do you suggest?

I only need 720P as that is a good 3x from most of the old games I play. The 1080p monitors may not scale right as they are in-between 4x and 5x scale. By now they should have mastered 720p, so the good ones should be cheap as everyone has moved onto 4k. I am looking for low to 0 input lag, fast response times, high refresh rates, and great colors.

I have not tried that converter/switch, but it seems really cool.

What is the best 720p monitor? I want minimal input-lag, great colors, and a high refresh rate. By now they should have perfected 720p, right? Aside from 4k, I figure a 3x multiplier for my old consoles and my old PCs should be able to handle a 720p resolution very well to maintain some great sharp pixels at a cost effective rate.

I saw a 720p TV at my local pawn shop, but they seemed to have sold it already. At this time 4k monitors don't seem to have the refresh rates and are super expensive. From what I have read, PC is still at 1440p and only the Xbox One X is 4k, so I figure i can continue to wait. I need a modern backup as I am now on my backup CRT monitor and no one in my state knows how to fix CRT monitors.

It is not a debate. Almost everyone prefers the OSSC since it does almost everything better. The only advantage I can find of the Framemeister is its easy low-effort and higher compatibility for streaming gameplay, which can also be done with the OSSC.

It is not even eternal. As there will be newer higher resolutions down the line and new equipment may be needed.

I am still looking for a low input latency with high refresh rate non-CRT monitor. All I can google up is Pixio and Zisworks monitors.

Is it time? I have been waiting for this day. Has monitors reached 0 input lag and extremely high refresh rates with great colors?

Best I read about was that Zisworks kit with its lack of input lag, but that's for those who dabble in engineering. Also only one report that the Pixios were pretty low on input lag, but they have higher than advertised refresh rates. Both I hear are not spectaular with colours though.

My CRT monitors may not last. I'm hoping the technology has matured enough to make the switch.
