I prefer the shorter but sweeter 3 acts in Sonic 1 than the long and sometimes boring stages in Sonic 3/S&K.
Sonic 2 was awesome, no question about it.

It's good but it's kind of a different kind of game, with different physics and level design philosophy.
Original Sonic 1 still the most patrician.

GHZ is a national park outisde of the city near the mountains, marble zone is a museum near the city, spring yard is an amusement park next to the city, labyrinth zone is a water springs resort, starlight zone is the city on the background of Spring yard, and Scrap Brain Zone is the industrial area.
The whole Sonic 1 game happens in the course of roughly 24 hours: GHZ morning, Marble afternoon, Spring Yard is sunset, Starlight is obviously night, Scrap Brain is dawn. And Sonic ends up running through GHZ again during the morning of the new day

I got one for free but doesn't work and I don't think I'll be trying to fix it anytime soon when I can use my PC to emulate Sega CD with Kega Fusion virtually perfectly. I do use real games though because fuck piracy.
I own Sonic CD and it feels so good to own, for some reason.
