There are two connectors for the outside. One is a neutrik USB for PC support, and the other is a neutrik RJ45 for old console support.

You can't just go without the connector on there outside, as it's soldered directly to the MC Cthulhu board. You make cables for each of the retro consoles you want to play, and they plug into the RJ45 jack. (If you went the brook retro route, you could technically go without the Neutrik RJ45 and plug directly into the board, but you'd have to open up the stick every time you wanted to play a different console.. just pay the $11 and get the Neutrik connector).
