I played it when it came out and bought the translation on steam. You have to remember it's a very modern installment of a VERY old series. That explains why it does some annoying/antiquated things.

Awesome game, though. Back when Falcom made kickass games instead of the dollar store generic anime filth now.

I got X1 when it came out because it looked so fucking sick. I ended up hating it, then years later I thought they fixed the formula with X3 NOPE.
It's because there's about ZERO remove to maneuver which makes it far too hard. ZX is fine, Z is crap.

The correct term is Hydlide-type, OP.

AKTUWALLY

Growlanser 4's fairies are all nods to previous character Urushihara likes. He draws girls he likes more often in his art books so you can tell his favorites.

The fairies are as such:

D-TP: This is Tippi from Growlanser 1
D-LN (Op's one): This is Luna (OP's) from Langrisser 3
D-RM: This is Raimy from Growlanser 3
D-MD: This is a new PSP one, just shoved in for L@Ls.

OP.
Back in 2002 I had to buy Valkyrie Profile and Rhapsody for around $140. They were still expensive and rare then. I think I bought my Langrisser IV and Growlanser IV for $100 also, but that was in 2004 I think.

The difference is that it's not rare stuff now that is expensive, it's everything because jews and chinks buy lots and sit on them while fat millenials want their childhood back.

I ( >>8268162 ) will ask my Japanese proxy if he can find any at poster reprint stores or if they have any in their catalog, he can also email Treasure and he did for SNK a while back. If I get one, it'll be scanned and I'll upload a .tiff or something in some thread.

I totally agree, OP.
I am the one who coined are regularly use the phrase: "The best example of the JRPG genre is one if its worst entries" to which I am referring to FF.
The deal is FF caters to mid-wits, who are the majority of the population. They are slightly marketed to, but that goes a long way and it gains clout in their community. In Japan DQ does this instead. Tri-Ace, Falcom, Camelot, Game Arts, and Acquire have made much MUCH better JRPGs than either of the Squeenix flagship titles, and they are all appreciated by the smarter people, but not the smartest people, because again they think/act/have the same tastes of the least smart people.

That's not to say Square is trash, as in the 90s they were creating a great many games better than their flagship title.
