Everything looks so unrelated to each other, different sizes and colour palettes(or lack thereof)
Also, have you tried lining everything along the top of the screen like in most retro platformers?

Faxanadu is my favorite part of the series despite it was licensed to Hudson Soft and they made their own game without any input from Falcom

Ironically the best Falcom game wasn't developed by them. They gave the license to Hudson Soft and they made a better Xanadu
