I used to love games by Elf, Leaf, Aquaplus, TGL, etc. but around the mid-90s, they started to remake the games from high-resolution dithered 16 color pixel art graphics to lower resolution but higher bit-depth 256 featherd colours bitmaps. At first I liked it, but somehow it even then it lacked the charm of the old restrictions. Is there a good indicator which one is the game versions that were more dot pixel art than scanned paintings?

I skipped 98 and went to 2000 and I miss the computer. Had so much fun with it, and it still had features which was sadly removed by the time of XP.

I am just more used to visual novels on PC. A comfortable PC setup can be achieved as well. Similar to FPS games, I'm just used to them with mouse+keyboard controls as that was what I got used to first, but unlike FPS on console there's not much of an acclimation process to playing visual novels on console as I remember being unable to figure out if I prefer "normal" or "inverted" on the right analog stick.
