Directional attack was pretty much useless in OoT. Lock on targeting made it irrelevant and most of the enemies aren't that mobile and have a crappy hitbox anyway. Jedi Outcast did it much better. Severance Blade of Darkness did it much better. Pic related did it much better in the very same year. Bushido Blade did it before OoT. Moonstone did it on the fucking Amiga. In these games, directional swinging is much more meaningful than it ever was in OoT. Even in Dark Souls it matters a lot, and memorising swinging pattern is a must.

One of my favorites. It was a relatively more realistic take on skateboarding for the time and the soundtrack was the best I've ever heard.
