So I recently got an Apple iic. I ordered an ADTPro kit, and I cannot get it to work. It won't bootstrap, although if I run ADTPro from the provided floppy, my Windows machine does get the query for the file directory before timing out. I've checked the continuity in the cable, and tried 3 different machines, 1 of which has a serial port to eliminate the Serial USB adapter, and I get the exact same result every time. At this point, I'm thinking the problem is that there's something wrong with the Apple ii that's preventing it from receiving. Any ideas on how I could test this?

I just found picrel in an old barn and brought it back to life. It doesn't have an audio in port, so are there any ways to get software for it other than a $200 disk drive emulator? Also Apple ii thread, what are the best games? Only thing I have is Prince of Persia, and it's surprisingly good considering the hardware.

Also strongly consider a IIc. IME they are some of the easiest ones to find, take up less space than the original, come with a free floppy drive and have several of the most popular expansion options for the IIe built in.
