I can't remember much, all I know is that it's a rpg/jrpg with a battle screen really similar to the diagonal angle of Ogre Battle (pic related) in which your characters stay on the lower right and enemies on the upper left.

ITT: post /vr/ games you've always felt like playing, but for some reason, never did.
feel free to mention any reasons for it.

pic related. I've always been attracted to ogre battle, but kinda feel like it would get too repetitive after like, 2 or 3 hours.

try ogre battle, if you want something different. don't expect an easy ride, though.

other than that, there's a bunch of fantranslated RPGs that might do it for you. try star ocean, tales of phantasia, FEDA - the emblem of justice, chaos seed, dual orb II. those are all worth it, IMO.
