It's very possible some young people in the thread also prefer the Genesis music, but I'm one of the more vocal ones >>6219837 agreeing that his music is decent but kind of generic and doesn't fit the game and I'm no spring chicken. Also you should probably stop obsessing about 'zoomers' so much. Accusing everyone you dislike or disagree with as some amorphous other doesn't promote conversation at all. So people disagree with you? Grow the fuck up about it. And doubly it's good we have young people here interested in classic games.

If I have a net connection then Dreamcast. If not, Genesis. On a tropical island though I doubt I'd play either a ton.

If you enjoy beat em ups, its a good time. I usually don't but I still think it's a ton of fun.

The Ecco games are also very worth trying. Not everyone's cup of tea, but they're so unique that It's always worth finding out. They're some of my favorite games.

It's many things, but certainly not boring. I say everyone should try it at least once, because it's so unique. But they're definitely not games that appeal to everyone so I'm never surprised when someone doesn't dig them.

Sega was always my favorite company. In their wake, my new favorite eventually became Microsoft. That wasn't until about half way through the 360's life though.

I like Nintendo as a company but don't care for most of their 1st party games.

I don't particularly like Sony as a company and don't care for most of their first party games.

I buy any console that has at least 5 exclusives I really want to play though. There's no company I flat out hate or won't support.

>After having spent an unsually hard game all you get is a pixelated Conglaturation screen and all those hours are gone. Why?

You don't do it for the win screen. You do it for the fun of overcoming the challenges.

Sure there are a lot of shitty retro games not worth putting time into, that's par for the course with everything. But there are also a lot of good ones and those are just as worth playing today as when they came out.

>Not to mention the graphics are horrible in early 3D games like Final Fantasy VII.

Graphics are just a window dressing. They can make a good game a little better, but not make a bad game good. Best not to put too much emphasis on them.

This jump is probably the hardest thing in the game. I still haven't even found a youtube video of someone doing it. Everyone takes the shortcut to avoid it.

>I see AB suggested constantly but what's the reason for this? It has an interesting concept but is poorly executed, and the combat mechanics are extremely simple. I loved the soundtrack and cover art though.

Not him, but I think you just described why a revival of it could be so good. It's a neat concept but a really awful game. That idea executed well would be awesome.

>>3630436
I am all for more Comix Zone, I think with the tech today that game could look incredible.

>>3630445
Huge yes on both of these as well.

My ultimate would be to see a new Ecco game, though I don't know what they'd do with it at this point.

Literally I've been on /vr/ since it's existed and no one has ever called me a shill for anything. I'm just saying, I think a lot of the people who come here are cranky and hate modern gaming.

>>3296065
Because I'm an old fart who grew up with "retro" games and I still like playing and talking about them. I just also like games from other eras though.

They really are their own thing; that's their main value. Great production values all around too.

You could play the Sega Classics 3D version of the first one, maybe; I dunno about actually scrounging out copies of the originals though if you're not that much into them to begin with.

We're all browsing an image board about old games on a Saturday, by the way; if emulation is an acceptable moral option for you at all, the question of whether it is "worth" it or not to just download the roms and invest like half an hour in checking them out is kind of silly.
