It was definitely still used well after the N64 officially launched. I clearly remember people still calling it "Ultra" in forums I frequented in 2000/2001.
I'm not against people calling them "PSX" or "NU64" btw, I think it's cool and makes me nostalgic, I just don't think we should push a false narrative of them being official abbreviations, it's PS and N64.
