Skull Man was one of the examples where MM levels went right downhill after 3. Look at that S-shaped path at the beginning. The whole place is as straight as it can be. Total lack of challenge and good enemies too, just bullet sponges to stop you from moving forward too fast.

Dive Man, same story. The whole game really, with few exceptions. Go straight, then straight again, then boss. Repeat 8 times.

This is just the biggest issue. But everything in the game is mediocre except for the charge shot. Some weapons are so garbage they sound like a joke (Pharaoh Shot, my ass). Perhaps the worst cast of bosses, from any NES M&M game, looking obviously recycled from the first glance.

Much easier too. Perhaps that's why some people like it.
