Actually my wife fully expected me to put the CRT in the living room when we moved in together after the wedding, but I wanted a separate space for it, also I liked the wood paneling. The entry to the living room is just to the left of that pic, actually, so we can talk to each other while she's on her laptop and I'm playing games. It's pretty comfy, desu.

For a short time, I actually had the signal split and running through an xRGB mini to the flatscreen in the living room so she could see what I was playing, lol. For a while, I was thinking of investing in wireless controllers for all of my consoles so I could just play them from either setup.

>If you're not scared of a soldering iron the chinese ones are not bad.
Soldering doesn't fix the shitty shielding, which is the worst thing about the cheap cables, imo. Although I guess I'm in the minority in caring about this; most people don't have decent audio setups or even care about audio, so getting feedback on brighter screens doesn't seem to bother them as much as it does me.

Sync, on the other hand, is something I've ever had an issue with. Dunno what kind of monitor that other anon has, but my PVM is great at sussing out sync from any source.

>How do you guys integrate your CRT in your livingroom next to a modern tv? It looks like an eyesore and ruins the whole aesthethic
There are two ways:
1.) Don't do it
2.) Don't care about it

S'okay. I bought a Framemeister just for shits some years back when I heard they were being discontinued. Honestly haven't used it much because I've always had a CRT, but it is kind of cool.

I've used a handful of different audio receivers/amplifiers over the years. Here's a neat Sony one I found at a church fair. Looked cool, but was built like shit. Lost the entire left channel because of how flimsy the potentiometers on all of the sliders were. The metal contacts would twist and break just from regular use. I had a really nice Pioneer one for a while, no pics of it, though.

I bought a Framemeister a few years ago after the final revision came out. Did they stop making them yet, or what? I prefer to use my CRT over it, but I'm hanging onto it for that inevitable day when I'm a broken old man and can't find any more CRTs.

It's pretty good. I got one on ebay a few years back with tax refund money. I've got all my systems run through a splitter/amp so I can put them on my CRT, LCD, or both. 99 times out of 100 I just use the CRT, though, unless I wanna show it off to friends, or we're playing a multiplayer game and could use the bigger screen, but it doesn't come up too often.

I suppose if I run out of CRTs, it'll be a good backup in the future, at least.

Good thread so far. Actually some new set-ups instead of the same old ones that always get reposted.

>I don't have the time, money, or patience to wait and hope I find some 20 inch perfect PVM to play everything on, and I'd rather just use my big flatscreen.
When you get one, you can do both.
