It never made sense to me that people were going to get their panties in a bunch over fictional depictions of shit that were written before 9/11 even happened but seeing how the plebs react to pretty much anything there was no way they were going to risk huge backlash. People were already going to be butthurt about the Snake / Raiden switch.

It sucks, though, you can pretty much tell where the cuts happened. Like all of a sudden you're just in the middle of New York

Even that's a huge exaggeration. Kojima went nuts with the cutscenes, yes, but even if you just skip them all there's still a ton of actual gameplay and a lot of it was very good. The pacing didn't really get fubar until the last chapter and that was because it was tying up all the loose ends from the entire series.

I know, It's not retro so I need to shut up about it but MGS4 gets too much hate, there's a lot of great things about that game.
