I had completely forgotten just how creepy and amazing the first FEAR was. the lowpoly graphics and stilted animations were super fucking effective for conveying that uncanny vibe they went after.

they did themselves a real disservice the moment they started focusing more on actual combat. both sequels dwelved too far into tacticool territory, ditched the horror component entirely and swapped out the interesting premise they had going on for the blander and more generic 'lets save the world from thing' plot.

christ I'm still fucking mad.
