There's solderless solutions out there (pic related), I used this chip that plugged into the optical drive ribbon cable port and stole some power from the power board. I only had to use tape.

Wanting to get a Sega Saturn mainly for Japanese imports, but broke as shit. Which is better, mod chip or disc swap? Aside from swapping discs each time you want to play, is there an advantage over the chip?
