Some people have got some specific universal remotes to work, but most of them will not work, I do not recommend them.
In general, using the TV already with its own remote control is its own process because with the MX4000 I had to program a second scart output for my devices right from the start to use it at all and I had to painstainkingly follow the instructions to do it.
Turning on the TV/selecting the right channel with Beo4 has to be done by first pressing the "List" button until the text "V.AUX" appears on the remote's own display and then pressing "OK".

Using the MX1500 with the Beolink 1000 is simpler but here too the correct channel is selected by first pressing the "AV" button and then the "TV" button
