I soldered under the pcb of the connector, the pins all stick out of it underneath so they're actually not too hard to solder too if you're patient enough. you also have to unplug all of those plugs on the pcb for the inputs as well. After that you can prop the board up ( I had mine at about a 45 degree angle) and begin to solder. tie the bunch of wires together after you've soldered and loop them under the pcb that's a little raised to the upper left close to where you soldered to contacts; you should be able to figure out how to loop it out the side from there.

you could just shell out for the adapter though haha! I just did this because I thought it would be cool and give me a little experience with soldering / modding.
