It's more baffling that the they had a template to work off already.

It would not be simple no. However, the Saturn 3D pad still has the Saturn d pad with consistent size buttons. Also since it looks pretty retarded you can still find them pretty cheap with a little patience despite them being somewhat uncommon.

Do you have any controllers that you like to play modern games with despite them not having enough buttons, purely because you love the old controllers so much? Pic related for me.

Pic related for me. I love the model 2 saturn controller too, but the annoying clicky shoulder buttons got me. The 3d pad is starkly different but feels so soft and comfortable that as soon as I picked it up I didn't want to put it down for days. The analog stick also feels better than any other I've felt before (although I prefer a soft surface over hard ridges.)

Only complaints:
I never liked raised dpads all that much, and while this style of dpad is basically objectively good, its position somewhat undermines it and makes me (obviously) go back to the model 2 for 2d games.
The analog stick ("stick") is short and has hard ridges that can hurt after a while. Speaking of, the analog stick is slightly loose, and wobbles back and forth just a little bit, like a paddle controller would. Doesn't effect the dead zone at all. (it may just be my controller though due to wear.)
Soft start buttons are bad.

But apart from those minor, minir preferences, this is definitely my favorite controller of all time.

Is there any way I can use this thing via an adapter for my N64? I love the way this thing feels period and have been meaning to get an adapter to be able to use it on my PC as well (alongside my model two saturn controller) but I have had no look in finding a way to use it on the N64 despite similar button layouts.

Is there any way I could do it? I wouldn't be opposed to trying out some homebrew gerryrigged method if need be, but I don't know where I would start, even.

I hate:
the dpad
the analog stick
the 4 face buttons (should be 6)
the wire at the front
the shoulder buttons/how cramped your hands get when you're needing to press the shoulder triggers

Saturn 3d controller was such a better design. It's a shame

is the dpad on the 3d controller the same as the model 2 one or is it a bit different?

Last one is tanked.
Just been playing TFV and noticed there is lots of slowdown around the larger enemies. Is this normal?
