The combination of the unique control scheme and the linked cabinets make it a novelty that will never be properly replicated in emulation.

This one never even made it to home console. I don't even think it's emulated yet.

Just found out that MAME has been able to run this game for years now.

I remember I used to think this game was THE. SHIT. back in the day and played it every time I went to the arcade, hoping it would somehow get a Dreamcast (and later when that died PS2) port that made use of the modem for online.

Looking back at it now though, I think the only I was so enamored by this game is because I never had a 3D FPS on my PC, Goldeneye on the N64 was about the only one I had ever even played. I think if I had Unreal Tournament or Quake 3 on my PC I would have had far less interest in this game... although the Mortal Kombat characters and sports arena-like setting did add some charm those games did not have.

Anyone else here remember this or used to play it? Did you like it too or found it to be a shitty game?

... I still kind of wish the game had come out on Dreamcast and/or PS2 with modem support to. After all, both Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament came out on both Dreamcast and PS2 with online support if I remember correctly

Hands down. This should have been on N64. A perfect game for the left side grip.

The best arcade game of all time has never gotten a home port and is still unemulated.
