A JSRF remake or rerelease will never happen because the music rights are a nightmare. Most of the soundtrack (I believe all of the non-Naganuma tracks) was owned by a record label that went bust shortly after the game came out, and the rights went everywhere. Getting the music together for the original JSR was bad enough, and some stuff had to get cut for the HD version.

That said, I'd still love to play this bastard on a modern platform. I'm not buying an original Xbox for it, though it's a tough decision.

"hated" is a strong word, but JSRF was met by critics with a "meh", had a big of a boost being a packed in Xbox game, but not enough to really make it a phenomenon. People mostly just wanted more Tony Hawk. Now, the game has a huge following by people who haven't actually played it, and a bunch of fan games.

I still don't understand the concept of love. Can you explain it please?

My original save file from 20 years ago is still intact
I've gone through and beat the game several times other in other save slots, but I always keep my original file there.
Played for a fuckton of hours just skating around and somehow never advanced past Chapter 7, no clue why
