>Try to keep things /vr/ related: Focus should be on 5th Gen (+Dreamcast) games on back. Slight off topic is fine so long as it's related to CRTs, such as later 16:9 models, HD models, etc. Systems with backwards compatibility are also safe territory, as are re-releases on newer hardware. PC CRTs are also welcome and appreciated.
>Produce OC! Bust out your camera and take photos of your CRTs displaying all sorts of games, featuring all sorts of tubes, using all sorts of signals. Getting good shots can be hard, but if you take enough, at least a few will turn out alright. Tips'n'Tricks™ coming soon.
>Try and give as much information as possible when asking for info on a specific set, or troubleshooting an issue to expedite and help you may receive. As always, Google is your friend and we are your friends with benefits. Older archived threads aren't a bad place to look either; Seriously, there's literally 6 years of backlog at this point.

Limited discussion of video processing and scaling devices is alright, but remember to keep the focus on CRTs and CRT accessories.

>I don't have a tv, my pvm is monitor :)
I am very happy with my 25" svideo tv made in 2004. It was nearly new (never used/stored well) when I got it a few months back, and I expect a long life for it. Some day I may RGB mod it, but I am quite ok with the quality of the picture. Honestly, it is the best looking TV I have ever owned. The cost was 1/10 of a PVM. I don't argue that PVMs look great. I don't find any need for one in my world. To further reinforce my PC master race status, I have a GDM-FW900 as a primary monitor. I just did the bi-yearly color calibration and it makes me drool every day for the last 14 years. I do appreciate quality displays, but consoles are a casual past time. Not saying that I wouldn't get a pvm either....I just missed the boat on the price and meme status. The GDM came long before it became a meme like it is now. $100 dollars 14 years ago, and I still feel like I robbed the seller.

>Entertaining the idea of scrapping this huge entertainment unit and building a custom one
I don't see why you would. Everything you have fits incredibly well already. Perhaps you can change the "internal" configuration with more or different sized shelves. You could build small supports to lift the TV up, and you could possibly have room for the Xbox & wii under the TV.
You could also make a shelf in the area above the tv where there are stacks oc cd & genesis games.

Is it real wood? If so it would be pretty simple to take out side and use a stripper on and you could restain to match the darker tones of your floor. You could stain or paint it near black to blend it with the shelf to the side as well.

Lose the end table with the speaker, and build a shelf on the wall, shimmy the wall on either side for the speakers.

Just my opinion. You also could do nothing, and it would continue to be awesome! Nice collection btw. Play lots of games with the kids when you can. Mine and I are doing Super Mario world snes, and its a blast. They remember and cherish that shit, even if you hate the game.

Our family's only tv is pic related. I keep all my discs/carts & other stuff in storage totes. Systems run from flash memory when possible. The modded wii with emulation allowed me to be a casual scrub and store my snes with my sister in law for her kids, my nes with my brother because, and my n64 with my sister. My kids play the shit out of the wii still. Id love to have a nice stereo system, but part of my deal is that we are renovating room by room, and I don't know what the final thing will be. I would like my "stuff" built into a wall somehow. I am very much a fan of corner stations especially with CRT tvs. If you have the right corner you can really go big and not really lose much room. If I make 2 side shelves for this with 45 degree angles, the whole unit would fit great and look very pro.

Since we are talking CRT adjustments:

I picked up this beauty this weekend.

The picture is great, but "offset" slightly up and right. Is there a way to adjust where the picture sits? Part of things are being cut off on the top, and there is a somewhat annoying line at the bottom of the picture where the image ends before the bezel.

There are no menu options to adjust screen size or position.

>ok, this is sexy.
Thanks. I always liked console TVs. The colors are amazing, and the sound is outright awesome. The stereo effect is quite good, and I am noticing things in audio that I wasn't aware of before. I may need to get a set of powered bookshelf speakers for this. The manual does not call it a Television, but an "Entertainment Machine". I have 2 sets of Wii Svideo coming in the mail, but in the meantime I have plenty to do with 64 & psx.
