Still working on Hellcastle. I guess my definition of "speedmapping" lacks the whole "speed" part, but that'll probably come with practice.

I keep alternating between wanting to work on the layout and wanting to detail.
It'd probably be better for me to pick one and stick with it, but every time I make a room I get disgusted by just how bare it looks and I can't help but vary up the linedefs...even if just a little.
And then I do test runs to check and see if there's any HOMs or broken sectors and DAMN THIS LOOKS SO BARE.

What do you usually do, anons? Do you layout first and detail later, or detail rooms as you finish them, or what?
