This theme should have become the official Solid Snake theme, even if Snake's Revenge is not canon, bla bla, this track is memorable as fuck. Imagine new arranged versions of it in subsequent games that play during key moments in the game. A missed opportunity.
The game itself is also underrated even though Kojima himself said he liked it, but I guess it was tainted by the reputation of the rushed Metal Gear 1 NES port.
Snake's Revenge was made by the Castlevania 1-3 team.

Underrated probably due to the bad rep of Metal Gear 1.

Snake's Revenge is also good, most people lump it with the NES version of Metal Gear 1, but Snake's Revenge wasn't rushed like the former was. It's not as good as MG2 or Ghost Babel, but it's still worth playing if you enjoyed Metal Gear 1 (MSX).

While we're discussing 2D Metal Gear, what do you guys think about Snake's Revenge?
I think it's severely underrated/ignored because of the bad reputation of the NES port of MG1, but Snake's Revenge is actually a legit good game.

Yeah, the NES Metal Gear port is indeed pretty bad when compared to the original, but considering it was a rushed port, it came out rather decently. Yes, people liked Metal Gear on NES, before they realized a better version approved by the series creator existed.

Snake's Revenge on the other hand is a much better game, and is indeed underrated now, mainly because of carrying the MG1 port stigma and "not canon" stigma.
Ironically, it was thanks to Snake's Revenge that Kojima got motivated to make Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake on the MSX2.
