That's moreso a problem with setting a year as the cutoff date rather than a console generation: Time keeps moving so anything can be considered "retro" sooner or later Although I'd argue that 6th gen was the last time before trends like heavy emphasis on online became a thing, but I digress.
The real issue is that the PS2 and PC cutoffs: It needs to be before HD consoles/the Wii released, otherwise will shitpost (as they are doing now.
