It's ok. I feel like it should serve a purpose for the weapon in question, like in Accessories To Murder, where the assault rifle is your basic rapid fire weapon, but you can use the sight to take more careful aimed shots at a longer range.
As using the sight is slower, you have just about zero reason to use it for CQB where your targets are closer and rate of fire is important, so it doesn't turn into having the sights in your face all the time.

it feels like there's less of point with a shotgun or super shotgun, or a pistol, assuming you aren't aiming for a more detailed milsim kind of gameplay like HDest, or you're attaching a special ability to make it worth it.
