Would Nintendo ever go back to the Original Kart Racing aesthetics?

The New Games are cool and all, my personal favorite is Double Dash to tell you the truth, but the original one has that neat small Go-Kart thing going on for it.

Looking through some collectible and concept art i love how simple the Kart Design is in the SNES version, and how faithful the asphalth tracks feel to what a real local small Kart Racing track would be like.

Would you guys enjoy a newer entry centered around these aesthetics? or do you prefer the current ones?
