did this game really need a port on every system in the known universe? also it seemed like a really boomer concept because I'm not even sure plumbers still existed in the 80s. it seems like a 50s thing.

What is this "motion resolution" digital foundry talked about in their CRT gawking video? It's just a measurement of response time/pixel blurring right?

Anyway, good CRTs are much better at this than LCDs (which ironically is actually really good for modern 3D games with lots of fullscreen camera movement and moving graphical effects. if you're playing mario or some shit made up pixel art, that actually looks excellent on LCD).

Scanlines only exist because they're the only way to get progressive scan from an interlaced CRT. The artist's intention, as shown in numerous examples of official artwork, was always the aesthetically superior sharp pixels.
