I really like Advanced VG 2 for the original Playstation. It plays surprisingly well as a solid fighting game. As for Steam Heart's, I've only played the PCE and Saturn versions but I understand it depends on what you're looking for on a sliding ratio of censorship and playability. It could have smooth gameplay but most censored on the Saturn, or least censored but less smooth gameplay on PC-98, so maybe the PCE version is the best in-between.

It still had a fair run of games, even getting a reboot. I guess it was on platforms which did not have worldwide appeal or had other strong games in the same genre so the market may have been a bit saturated.

Between Yuka, Akira, and the purple-haired clone of Yuka just shows how perfect the design really is and I love it. Kimura-sensei was one of my most favorite character designers of the time which knew my sensibilities.

I just want a convenient PnP solution for the supergun. Sadly those are sold out at this time. Just having some conveniences would be nice, since I can't always find someone who can do soldering work, which is troublesome juggling CPS2 boards from killing themselves.

More than I'd like to admit. I saw the cutouts of Korone and FBK at Evo2023's Idol Showdown and they were very high quality prints. As for SFA2, it was pretty good on both Saturn and Playstation as stand-ins to practice for arcade play, even the SNES version is technically impressive.

Yuka has the attributes that I like. Satomi too.

There's the Maze OVAs which were amusing.

Takeuchi Yuka all the way. Ninja girl and best friend is pretty good too.

What separates Takeuchi Yuka from her clone and Honzyozi Akira of Viper to you?

It has a ceiling for its story, which it met. Gave every character of a large cast a moment to shine, great animated action, couldn't really ask for more. I mean that very fight inspired the dramatic battle modes that I loved so much with the 2v1 in the Alpha games.

That would be on the original Japanese PC98 games. Also, I don't think people could monetize that content on YouTube.

I actually like a lot of PC-98 pixel art. I like the aesthetic of pixel art with a limited but curated color palette to create an amazing image. The Kimura character designs are also very appealing to me. Variable Geo is just like the Viper series to me.

My most favorite of the genre includes:

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Capcom Vs. SNK 2
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
Street Fighter Alpha 2
X-Men Vs. Street Fighter
SNK Vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium
Garou: Mark of the Wolves
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Vampire Savior
King of Fighters 98UM
King of Fighters 2002UM
Last Blade 2
Samurai Shodown 2
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R
Gundam W: Endless Duel

Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate
Bloody Roar 2
Soul Calibur
Last Bronx
Rival Schools
Fighters MEGAMiX

I have spent hundreds of hours on those games, but there are a lot of so-so fighting games I had great times playing with my friends. I think those are the best ones, which you have a great group of people around to play with. If you include sports games like boxing or pro-wrestling games there's like so many great fighting games I like.

I cannot pick just one. They all do great arwork. I'll just highlight the one who did the Viper games. It was a nice style. I'll look up the name after work if no one answers, I think it was Sogna, or something like that.

No, Advanced V.G. for the Saturn is censored from the PC releases. Yellow label only means suggestive themes, but it probably suggests more than the PS version was allowed as Playstation games at that time went with the Nintendo model for wholesome only games. I would suggest against getting Advanced V.G. as it is a slight iteration on the original V.G., the one that plays good is Advanced V.G.2 on the PS. If you want the sexing for that series, go with PC for the Viper and Variable Geo.

I think anon was speaking of Advanced V.G.2 for the Playstation. It is a surprisingly good fighting game, but by rules of Sony on their Japanese system in those days, no ero.

I remember seeing a newer Variable Geo game V.G. Neo or something which has different new character designs which was not as good as the original ones in my opinion. I think that was the reboot.

I don't want to watch, it seems like all cringe viewing. Granted Takeuchi Yuka was the draw for me to get interested in the series to begin with, got the SS LE just for that pose.

>>4026660
The Saturn version eludes me. I want it, for reasons. Had no clue about the unofficial revision, I think that's awesome the devs would do such a thing.
