I remember these fun little stands where you could test a game, or watch a bunch of videos of footage of games. Donkey Kong Country, X-Men on the Genesis, Sonic and Knuckles... I played a lot of those games here first before deciding whether I wanted them or not.

My most vivid memory is getting there in the morning and finding Killer Instinct on one of those stands. I picked Fulgore because be was a badass robot and black was my favorite color. I had to have played that thing for hours. I'd always beat a couple of people and then have to fight Orchid, who would always kill me, without fail. It didn't matter if she was the first opponent or if she was near the end, I could never beat her. Seriously, fuck Orchid.

After a while, a line started to form behind me. Kids started saying stuff like, "Is it my turn?" or "I'm telling!" Eventually, a staff member had to get me to leave.

What is your favorite retro fighting game? Mine has to be Killer Instinct desu.
