I blame Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom. They seem to eat up the majority of Capcom's budget nowadays alongside Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Devil May Cry. There's also the whole Inafune thing. Honestly I wouldn't be that mad if they just sold Mega Man to IntiCreates, they made the last few good games prior to Mega Man 11 anyaway.

Early arcade SEGA was really good, especially with stuff like OutRun and After Burner. I don't really care for any of their later arcade games though, maybe save for Sonic the Fighters. I have yet to play most of the Tekken and Ridge Racer games from Namco. Konami made a lot of really great shmups, not just the Gradius series but also things like Parodius and Detana Twinbee, I feel like they're in a slightly different category though, closer to Success or Taito.

Really if I had to pick one it would probably be Capcom, a lot of their fighting games are kind of samey but they're still good imo, and they also did a couple of shmups and some solid beat 'em ups during the CPS1 and CPS2 era, and basically became the face of the arcade retro gaming category.
