ATTENTION "MODS"
I, and all my fellow /vr/gins demand that you explain why you are all knowingly, willingly, and deliberately derelicting the duties that you swore you would uphold when you were granted your positions of power by allowing /a/ to raid /co/ with east vs west troll threads like these on a constant basis >>>/co/138923931
All of these threads are in direct violation of>>>/global/rules/3 >>>/global/rules/4 >>>/global/rules/10 and >>>/co/rules/1
Go ahead and pin this then dump the rest. In fact, you should be making said posts yourself. This is NOT Reddit.

One of the biggest "beefs" that I have with the board, even though I love it very much and find it to be probably the comfiest place on chan, is the "cutoff" year for games considered to be retro, 1999; from the Game Tech wiki, we can see how consoles and handhelds are classified by generation:
>First (1972-1980)
>Second (1976-1992)
>Third (1983-2003)
>Fourth (1987-2003)
>Fifth (1993-2006)
>Sixth (1998-2013)
So, up until the sixth gen, we are dipping into both past and next century/millennia. My point is this - believe it or not, but 1999 is not the last year of the 20th century/second millennia - it's actually the year 2000. And 2001 is the year that marks the beginning of the "new era". My proposal is this - why not make the year 2000 the cutoff point? The following games would then become "officially approved" for discussion and not subject to NOT RETRO faggotry, to name a few:
>Nox
>American McGee's Alice
>Daikatana
>The Operative: No One Lives Forever
>the Masquerade: Redemption
>Deus Ex
>Shogun: Total War
>Theif 2: the Metal Age
Furthermore, some of the games that already fall into this category (2000) are widely being discussed regardless, since they are "bundled" with some others as part of the franchise - like BG2, RA2 and so on, not to mention CS.

What are your thoughts ? What would you like to change or improve regarding the board? Share your ideas here please and hopefully we'll make /vr/ an even comfier place!

What do you think about the state of the board? What could be improved? Maybe the sticky could be updated to include rules about ecelebs, as they apparently seem to be banned now.

(Also if this thread gets deleted I'll be discussing it with admins in the IRC chat.)
