Fuck it, I'm out, the quality of discussion on nu-/vr/ is now the same as on /v/, just a bunch of bored teenagers shitting on literally everything to get a rise out of people who actually care.

Almost every thread is like this now.

Should've just split the whole thing into /v90/ and /v00/, then add /v10/ in another ten years or so. Keep it simple, sheesh. People will keep identifying as 90's kids, 2000's kids etc. This 2007 cut-off doesn't make a lick of sense.

It's a port of the 68k game which in turn is a remake/reimagining of the original CV.

One of my first JRPG's was Mother 3. The game seriously impressed me with its good writing and very careful pacing. You're always hooked and wondering what's gonna happen next. It holds your attention till the very end.

After completing it, I thought hey there's tons of similar games on the SNES, isn't there? I'm gonna have a blast! And so I started playing the obvious choices: Earthbound and Chrono Trigger.

They bored me to tears. Had to eventually drop them both.

Most of the playtime is just very simplistic and tedious dungeon crawling, and then you get a short cutscene with Fox Kids like dialog. And that's it, rinse and repeat.

How are these types of games even worth shit if you compare them to real RPG's like Ultima, Dark Sun, Baldur's Gate etc?

People here can't agree on ANYTHING, especially not on a controversial game that has the frequenters divided as sharply as this one.

It seems that people here either love it or hate it, and no matter how often we have this thread (or the one claiming the very opposite), these people do not move a single inch in their opinions.

Threads like this are absolutely pointless and a waste of space, unless you enjoy watching people get all riled up over nothing and receiving some delicious (you)s. If that's the case, then congrats, good job.
