Dracula in this game is literally "Start throwing holy water" and he dies in literal seconds.

I find this game really interesting, and I want to attempt it without a guide. Is it really as bad as people say, or are they just exaggerating? I already know about shit like:
>crouch and wait for a tornado
>drop garlic in the graveyard and wait for an old lady to appear
>crouch by the water and wait for the screen to scroll down
>fake floor blocks in mansions
Without spoiling the game for me anymore than I already have, how much stupid meme shit does the game actually have? Is there a lot more, or are those the worst examples?

I'm going to play this game for the first time. Is it advisable to try and beat it with no outside help?

People complain so much now-a-days that companies just rehash the same games with slightly updated graphics over and over again but back then they actually tried to make the sequels like this, Zelda 2, Castlevania 2 , Zillion 2, Wonder Boy 2, etc actually be unique games from their predecessors. Then people instead complain over how those aren't the same but they could at least admire the effort.

SMB2 came from a different time in gaming. Back then the assumption was "why would anyone play the exact same game over again?" so sequels released in North America like this, Zelda 2,

Other than the fact that Dracula himself is way too easy, I don't understand all the hate.

You can tell that a great game is there but a few large flaws hold it back.

My options were very limited when I was a kid.
